Red-crowned cranes (Grus japonensis) have a patch of red bare skin on their forehead. During the mating season, it is said the patch becomes brighter red.

My photography life started when I was working for a newspaper in New York City in 2005. Back then I was very busy taking pictures of humans and their stories and had no time to visit nature scenes. So my life as a nature photographer started several years later - in the beautiful Lone Star State, Texas. In Texas, I found myself in the middle of stunning wildflower fields, woke up in the mornings hearing beautiful songs of birds, and encountered many wildlife in my backyard and parks. I was captivated by the abundance of nature and started observing and photographing their life, habitats, and environment.
